On October 26, 1992, the U.S. Congress passed Public Law 102 525 establishing Brown V. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka, Kansas. The site's grand opening was May 17, 2004.

The Visitor's Center is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Admission is free.
