Private Sector Funding

Over 120 private companies and individuals contributed to the "Building a Brighter Future" Campaign to meet the goal of $2,000,000 over five years-2003-2007. The private dollars will compliment the funds generated from a 1/2 cent sales tax approved by Shawnee County voters. Private sector dollars will be used for business retention/expansion, workforce development and recruitment, enhancing the presence of federal employers, developing Forbes Field infrastructure.
